Welcome to this week’s round-up of PR news highlights, which sees a local Cambridge digital agency go Stateside with a new office, and YouTube making the move towards launching a subscription-based option.

The Cambridge headquarted digital agency, Omobono has opened a new office in Chicago, the company’s first office based in the United States.

The agency, which boasts Coca Cola, BP and Shell has worked with American clients for more than a decade; the US office, in the heart of Chicago’s business district, is headed by Omobono veteran of five years, Tom Kelly.

YouTube to launch ad-free subscription service

Google has announced that it is to launch a subscription-based service to YouTube, reports the Guardian. The announcement was made by YouTube’s head of content and business operations, Robert Kyncl, at the Code/Media conference. The website, which recently turned 10 years old, attracts more than one billion user per month and was acquired by Google for $1.65bn in 2006.
