Role: Business Communications Executive

An exciting opportunity exists for a Communications Executive to join the Marketing and Communications team based in Peterborough, UK. You will enjoy the benefits of working within a professional and global Marketing and Communications team, and your specific role will support the Maritime & Waterways business line.

My client is a respected thought leader within the maritime sector and are world renowned for their technical excellence in developing, designing and delivering innovative and sustainable maritime solutions. Your primary role will be to tell that story. You’ll support a wide range of activities and assist in the planning, execution, management and measurement of all Business Line communications and campaigns, working across the full communications mix.

Main duties and responsibilities

Support external and internal communications activities in line with the Maritime and Waterways communications plan.
Provide support to the global Maritime & Waterways Communications Business Partner as well as global communications team initiatives.
Create impact through storytelling and a continuous flow of content using external and internal communications channels, including media. This will include, for example, writing press releases, website and digital copy, brochures, presentations and other marketing collateral.
Support the development of thought leadership by ensuring the business line is well represented at key conferences and seminars throughout the year.
Provide support for event management, including out of hours attendance at events, as required.
Liaise with internal and external suppliers to support campaign activity. Produce clear briefings and manage day-to-day relationships to ensure quality delivery to deadlines. This may include creative concepts, print management, event management and advertising.
Measure and evaluate campaign effectiveness to enable strategic and tactical planning by driving adoption of key marketing tools.
Provide general administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the business line communications function.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism or other relevant subject.
A diploma level professional qualification from a relevant and recognized professional body, such as the CIPR, NCTJ or CIM.
Substantial experience in a similar role.
Experience in all round communications activities including digital media.
Attention to detail and good creative copywriting skills.
Experience of developing and delivering creative and effective communications materials.
Ability to convert technical facts into compelling stories.
Good project management skills.
Strong influencing skills.
An understanding of large, complex organisations.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
